About West Bengal Private Tutors' Welfare Association
West Bengal Private Tutors' Welfare Association (WBPTWA) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, organising and uplifting private tutors across West Bengal. We provide advocacy, training, and community resources so tutors can deliver higher-quality education and secure fair recognition.
Our Mission
To improve the livelihoods and professional standards of private tutors through training programs, legal support, and a community-driven platform for knowledge exchange.
Our Vision
To build an empowered network of tutors recognised for their contribution to education and equipped with the tools needed for sustainable livelihoods.
History & Governance
Founded in 2001 by local tutors and educators, WBPTWA has grown steadily to represent tutors across urban and rural districts. Our governance is volunteer-led with an elected executive committee responsible for program planning and district coordination.
